Scammer on eBay

Some seller on eBay just tried to get an extra $1.55 out of me for a book I paid for after I won the auction. Can you believe it? He sent me this message, prior to the auction's end, but unfortunately didn't see it until after I actually paid for the item. This is what he said:

Dear stunatra,

i see that you are the high bidder for my item the Dexter Novel. Unfortunately i cannot sell this item for less than 7.99 plus shipping. this means that if you win the auction you must pay an additional 1.55 plus the cost of shipping. let me know if you want this item. as soon as i recieve the payment i will ship it out. if you win the auction i will send you an invoice stating the calculations i just described to you in this message. thanks for bidding!

If this fucktard wanted at least $7.99 for the fucking book, why'd he bother having an auction then? He should have listed it as buy it now for $7.99 + shipping. That would have been the right thing to do.

I told him he can either send me the book or refund my money. He is not getting an additional $1.55 out of me. If he fails to comply, I will report him to eBay. That is what he'll get for not following the rules.

Of all the sellers listing the same item on eBay, I had to pick this nitwit. Unbelievable.

As a seller he also could have set the opening bid higher which is what he should have done if he truly wanted at least that much for the item. You so should not have to pay one cent more than your bid plus shipping. It's sad people can't be honest. Be sure to leave feedback to warn future buyers about this seller.

What a shit stain. I hate ebay and everything that it stands for. That's why I use Amazon. You can buy new books cheap and they usually arrive at your door step within 4 days.

Have you tried Amazon before?

@Karen, Thank you. The seller actually complied with my wishes. He is shipping the book.

@Phuck, yes, Amazon is great. I'd use Amazon more if they accepted Paypal, though.
