NH becomes 6th state to legalize gay marriage

Gay marriage bill signed into law in New Hampshire

CONCORD, N.H. – New Hampshire became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage Wednesday in a move that reflects the state's changing demographics from reliably Republican and conservative to younger and more liberal.

The Senate and House passed key language on religious rights, Gov. John Lynch — who personally opposes gay marriage — signed the legislation Wednesday afternoon.

Lynch, a Democrat, had promised a veto if the law didn't clearly spell out that churches and religious groups would not be forced to officiate at gay marriages or provide other services. Legislators made the changes.

"Today, we are standing up for the liberties of same-sex couples by making clear that they will receive the same rights, responsibilities — and respect — under New Hampshire law," Lynch said.

Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont and Iowa already allow gay marriage, though opponents hope to overturn Maine's law with a public vote.

This is awesome. Way to go New Hampshire!!

To the opponents of gay marriage: fuck you. Just because you hate homosexuals and don't agree with gay marriage doesn't mean you should get to dictate what rights they should and shouldn't have. What you think shouldn't matter at all. No one gives a shit what you think. And before you start bringing out the bible bullshit, let me inform you of this: marriage has shit to do with religion. All marriage is, legally, is a piece of paper. Got that? There are many legal reasons for gay couples to get married just as there is for straight couples. Ok? So leave your precious religion out of this. It's not even an issue. If the church doesn't wanna marry two homosexuals, then they shouldn't have to. It's their choice. No one has to be religious to get married anyway, so it shouldn't even be an issue.

I don't understand the opposition to gay marriage at all. If two people, regardless of gender, love each other, then what is it to you? How does that bother you? Why does it bother you? I don't get it. Only answer I can come up with is: hatred.

Gay marriage shouldn't have been on the ballot in California or anywhere else for that matter. Who is the majority to decide what rights the minority should have? I'm hoping that all of these states are able to remain "gay-friendly" and that the homophobes won't overturn the legislation like they did in California. California voting against gay marriage really surprised me. I mean, it is one of the most liberal states in the country. Are Californians fucking retarded? Do they realize what they've done? Their state is in fiscal ruin and they don't realize how gay marriage could benefit their economy and the state's bank book. They have no idea. Instead, they let their hatred rule over all. It's sad. Really sad.

Things Are Looking Up

According to Rasmussen...

Consumer Confidence Reaches Highest Level Since November

After five days of steady gains, consumer confidence is now at its highest level
of 2009. In fact, confidence is now at the highest level since the morning after
Barack Obama was elected President in November.
The Rasmussen Consumer Index, which measures consumer confidence on a daily basis,
moved up another point on Sunday to 67.0.

I guess things are starting to look up. Now who will take the credit? Will it be President George Bush or will it be President Obama? What do you think?

I don't really care either way. As long as things start to get better and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's alright by me.

Dumbass Pelosi says there are over 500 million Americans

I didn't know that there are over 500 million Americans, did you? Last I checked, the population was somewhere in the 300 million range. So let me get this straight....for every month that congress dickers around with this so called stimulus bill, 500 million more Americans will lose their jobs. That's 500 million people losing their job per month...is that correct? How in the fuck can 500 million Americans lose their jobs every month if there aren't even 500 million people in this country? I wish this Piglosi cunt would lose her job. It just might be the stimulus that congress needs.

Starbucks to Close 300 stores

Starbucks (or as I call it Starfucks) is closing 300 stores as profits tumble. This comes as no surprise to me. Their coffee fucking sucks and is, may I say...overpriced? Paying $4-8 for a cup of coffee is ridiculous. Maybe if Starbucks cuts their goddamn prices people might be able to afford their shitty coffee and thus increasing their sales.

They can cut the prices but it still wouldn't make me want to give them my business. I wouldn't give them 2 cents for their shitty coffee. If I want to go out and have coffee, I'll go to Dunkin Donuts. Now that place knows how to make coffee.

To Bail or Not To Bail

To Bail or Not To Bail? That is the question.

I've been on the fence about bailing out the "Big Three." On one hand, I feel that if a company doesn't know how to run a business effectively, then they don't deserve to have that business, and that they should fail. But on the other hand, I think about all of their employees. What will happen to them? And what this will mean to our country's economy overall if they do fail. I'd hate to see our country inching closer to a depression because of companies that don't know how to take care of business. And equally scary, is the closer to socialism this country is getting.

So, do we bail out the big three, and possibly save a lot of jobs and avert a depression, or do we let them fail and hope for the best? I don't know. Its a terrible predicament. What do you think?

With all of these bail outs, the financial industry, the automotive industry, individual states requesting money, etc. I wonder, who is going to bail this country out? This country is in a mess of its own. Can we afford to bail everyone out? Eventually, we are going to be the ones who will need bailing out. Who will bail us out when the time comes?

Wasteful Spending?

The conservative Republicans talk a lot about keeping taxes low and cutting wasteful spending, but what do they mean by wasteful spending? You know what I call wasteful spending? All the money we're wasting in that shithole named Iraq. Now that's what I call wasteful spending. They don't seem to mind dumping ten billion dollars a month into Iraq, though. But god forbid, should we establish a national health care system and let the government foot the bill. Nope, we can't have that. I could think of a lot of ways to wisely spend that money here in our own country – to our own benefit.

And not only wasteful spending, but look at all of the lives sacrificed on this meaningless war in Iraq. Do the Republican Conservatives really think we're going to win the war in the long haul? I think not. The Islamic extremists have nothing to lose. They will sacrifice their own lives because they are convinced they are doing right, and will do everything and anything in their power to defeat us. Other than their lives, they have nothing to lose. We are the ones who are fighting to retain what is ours. Look at what this war is doing to our economy. It is killing us. The value of our dollar is decreasing, while the Euro is getting stronger. We are in debt like never before. We're borrowing money from China because we can't afford our expenses here at home. Fuel prices are skyrocketing. Our own citizens are struggling to survive and our own government doesn't seem to give a fuck. We are crumbling. We're indebted to China and soon they are going to own us.

And these asshole Republicans are naive to think we are winning? HELLO!! The Islamists are winning! We're in the exact position they want us to be in. We are the one sacrificing our young soldiers.

The Islamists are going to win, folks. It's only a matter of time. Those who have nothing to lose will always prevail over those who are trying to protect something. We are the losers, and the sooner we realize that, the better off we'll be.

Taxes and Church

I'm getting tired of these churches who think they should have a say on how things are run in the government. Have they forgotten about the separation of church and state? I think everyone has. Politics and religion seem to go hand in hand these days, and it's really sad. I think that if these asshole churches want to have their say in government, they need to fucking pay taxes just like everybody else. What makes anyone think they should be exempt? What is anyone's reasoning behind it? All businesses pay taxes, so why shouldn't they? Just think of all the real estate the churches take up in this country. And all the revenue the government could bring in with taxes against the church. We could probably kill the deficit with that money alone. There's talk in Washington about raising people's taxes. This isn't the way to go about things in a faltering economy. What they need to do, is tax these fucking churches. If the churches want to cause trouble, then they need to pay like everybody else.
