And they walk among us....

I received this in the email today. Very funny, and very sad...

WHY WE'RE IN TROUBLE

A DC airport ticket agent offers some examples of 'why' our country is in trouble !

1. I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so
that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. (On
an airplane!)

2. I got a call from a candidate's staffer, who wanted to go to
Cape town. I started to explain the length of the flight and the
passport information, and then she interrupted me with, ''I'm not
trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in
Massachusetts...'' Without trying to make her look stupid, I
calmly explained, ''Cape Cod is in Massachusetts , Cape-town is in
Africa .'' Her response - click.

3. A senior Vermont Congressman called, furious about a Florida
package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando
He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain
that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the
state. He replied, "Don't lie to me, I looked on the map and
Florida a very thin state!'' (OMG)

4. I got a call from a lawmaker's wife who asked, ''Is it possible
to see England from Canada ?'' I said, ''No.'' She said, ''But
they look so close on the map.'' (OMG, again!)
Dallas

5. An aide for a cabinet member once called and asked if he could
rent a car in Dallas . When I pulled up the reservation, I noticed
he had only a 1-hour layover in Dallas . When I asked him why he
wanted to rent a car, he said, ''I heard Dallas was a big airport,
and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time.'' (Aghhhh)

6. An Illinois Congresswoman called last week. She needed to know
how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:30, and
got to Chicago at 8:33 am. I explained that Michigan was an hour
ahead of Illinois , but she couldn't understand the concept of time
zones... Finally, I told her the plane went fast, and she bought that.

7. A New York lawmaker called and asked, ''Do airlines put your
physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage
belongs to whom?'' I said, 'No, why do you ask?' She replied,
''Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my
luggage that said (FAT), and I'm overweight. I think that's very
rude!'' After putting her on hold for a minute, while I looked
into it. (I was dying laughing). I came back and explained the
city code for Fresno , CA is FAT - Fresno Air Terminal, and the
airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage.

8. A Senator's aide called to inquire about a trip package to
Hawaii . After going over all the cost info, she asked, ''Would it
be cheaper to fly to California , and then take the train to Hawaii ?''

9. I just got off the phone with a freshman Congressman who asked,
''How do I know which plane to get on?'' I asked him what exactly
he meant, to which he replied, ''I was told my flight number is
823, but none of these planes have numbers on them.''

10. A lady Senator called and said, ''I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola,
Florida . Do I have to get on one of those little computer
planes?'' I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola , FL on a commuter
plane. She said, ''Yeah, whatever, smarty!''

11. A senior Senator called and had a question about the documents
he needed in order to fly to China . After a lengthy discussion
about passports, I reminded him that he needed a visa. His
response, "no I don't. I've been to China many times and never had
to have one of those.'' I double checked and sure enough, his stay
required a visa. When I told him this he said, ''Look, I've been
to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!''

12 A New Mexico Congress woman called to make reservations, ''I want to
go from Chicago to Rhino, NY. '' I was at a loss for words.
Finally, I said, ''Are you sure that's the name of the
town?'' 'Yes, what flights do you have?'' replied the lady. After
some searching, I came back with, ''I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked
up every airport code in the country and can't find a rhino
anywhere.' ''The lady retorted, ''Oh,don't be silly! Everyone
knows where it is. Check your map!'' So scoured a map of the
state of New York and finally offered, 'You don't mean Buffalo , do you?
The reply. "Whatever! I knew it was a big animal.
Now you know why the Government is in the shape that it's in!

YES, THEY WALK AMONG US AND THEY CONTINUE TO BREED!

Worse, they are in Congress!

Rasmussen Reports 12.5.08

46% Say Congress Should Be Able To Override Presidential Pardons

Forty-six percent (46%) of U.S. voters say Congress should be able to overturn
presidential pardons it thinks are unjustified, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Thirty-seven percent (37%) believe Congress should not have that power, and 18% are undecided.

I agree with this. If congress can override vetoes, why can't they override Presidential pardons? Whatever happened to there being justice in the system? There should be a limited amount of pardons from the President. People need to realize that there are consequences for their actions.
Seventy-four percent (74%) of U.S. voters continue to believe the federal government is not doing enough to secure the country's borders, even as President-elect Obama has named a new secretary of Homeland Security who is opposed to a border fence.
I agree with this, too. Why are our politicians so afraid to do anything about illegal immigration? They seem to care more about some shithole in the middle east than what is going on in our own backyards. Something needs to be done about border security but no one wants to do anything. I assume its only gonna get worse with Janet Napolitano as Homeland Security Secretary. She hasn't done anything to curb illegal immigration here in Arizona. She even criticized Sheriff Joe Arpaio for doing his job of rounding up the illegals. We need more people like him in the system. If these illegal fucks don't want to immigrate to this country legally, then they shouldn't come at all. And if they do come, they should be deported A.S.A.P. Screw amnesty. I am sick of this country catering to everyone. Illegal immigrants have NO rights and they should be treated as such. Don't give me none of this human rights bullshit. If they want to come here, they should do it legally or face the consequences. I'm tired of this country giving the illegals a free ride.
Pennsylvania Senate: Specter 46% Matthews 43%

Republican Senator Arlen Specter is potentially vulnerable in his 2010 bid for re-election. A Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Pennsylvania voters finds Specter leading MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews by just three percentage points, 46% to 43%, in a match-up that may foreshadow one of the nation's most closely-watched Senate races.
I personally think Matthews should stick to his MSNBC show and leave the politics for the big boys. He does fine as a political commentator, so why the change?
Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Minnesota voters now expect incumbent Republican Norm Coleman to beat Democrat Al Franken in the state’s U.S. Senate race, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Minnesota taken Thursday night.
I dont' really care who wins this one. Democrats have 58 seats in congress now? I think that's plenty. Who's to say they can't pick up a few moderate Republicans?

Congress

America doesn't overly approve of the job Congress is doing in Washington. Currently their approval rating is 17.3% - while Bush's approval rating is 30%. And regardless of their approval ratings or productivity, they still get a paycheck. Something is wrong here, don't you think?

Well, I've proposed an idea that might help congress become more productive. What we ought to do is is pay them minimum wage until they work on a plan to reduce the deficit. Cut off all lobbyist money from these assholes. Make them do their job and fire them all if necessary.

I think that might put fire under their asses. Let them feel how it's like to work for minimum wage. Show them what it's like to really work for someone, and don't let them forget that they work for us.

If that's too radical for ya, then how about this:

Currently,

Congressmen & Senators earn $165,200
Majority & Minority Leaders earn $180,100
Speaker of the House earns $208,100

In my opinion, that is more than what they're worth. I'd cut all their salaries in half, thus:

Congressmen & Senators would earn $82,600
Majority & Minority Leaders would earn $90,050
Speaker of the House would earn $104,050

Maybe that will motivate them a little bit and remind them that they work for the citizens of the USA.

And once they balance the budget and help kill the deficit, I still wouldn't let them off easy. I'd make their approval rating determine their salary. Fuck 'em. I think that would encourage them to work together and get things done, wouldn't you say?

America's Official Language?

I don't know about you, but I am tired of pressing 1 or 2 for English. Why are we catering to these immigrants? If they want to live here, they need to learn the language, or they need to get the fuck out. If I were President, I'd try to make it so that if they want to be an American citizen, they'd have to learn the language. If they do not learn English – the Official Language of this country, then they need to go back to their homeland. Case closed. My ancestors had to learn English, so why the fuck shouldn't these assholes? Also, I am tired of reading food labels and manuals, and stuff with other languages on it. These are American products. The only language that should be on there is ENGLISH. We are an English speaking nation. If the President speaks the language, then that is the official language of the country. Case fucking closed!

And I am appalled that the assholes in our useless congress have yet to pass a bill signifying English as America's official language. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton being two of the members of congress that voted against it. What they did was anti-American. This country seems to care more about these illegal immigrants than they do about their own citizens. These immigrants have more fucking rights than us. I am tired of it. I say we close the border. If you're out of the country, stay the fuck out, and if you're here and legal, you stay here, but if you're not, you're thrown the fuck out. One way to stop this illegal immigration is to shoot these illegal fucks on sight. I bet you this would slow down the crossing of the border. In fact, I'm sure these fucks would be running the other way.
