SC Gov. Mark Sanford admits he's had an affair

COLUMBIA, S.C. – After going AWOL for seven days, Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday that he'd secretly flown to Argentina to visit a woman with whom he'd been having an affair. He apologized to his wife and four sons and said he will resign as head of the Republican Governors Association.

"I've let down a lot of people, that's the bottom line," the 49-year-old governor said at a news conference where he choked up as he ruminated with remarkable frankness on God's law, moral absolutes and following one's heart. His family did not attend.

The woman, who lives in Argentina, has been a "dear, dear friend" for about eight years but, Sanford said, the relationship didn't become romantic until a little over a year ago. He's seen her three times since then, and his wife found out about it five months ago.

I like how Republicans claim to be pro-family values and Save marriage from homosexuals, but you find that they're always the first ones to be out sleeping around on their wives and/or found in a bathroom somewhere sucking cock. Which amounts to the same thing, really.

Homosexuals are going to destroy marriage! Can you believe that? I don't. You heterosexuals seem to be doing a fine job of that on your own.

Bunch of hypocrites.

One-Out-of-Seven Favor 90% Tax Rate for Millionaires

One-Out-of-Seven Favor 90% Tax Rate for Millionaires

Just one-out-of-seven Americans (14%) would like to see a 90% tax rate on earnings
above a million dollars a year. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone
survey finds that 74% are opposed to such a high tax rate for the nation's highest
earners. Eighty-five percent (85%) of Republicans oppose the 90% tax rate, along
with 66% of Democrats and 72% of those not affiliated with either major party.

I'm all for someone paying their fair share in taxes, but you have to agree that 90% is way more than their fair share. It's the socialism that the Republicans accused Obama of advocating when he only supported a measly 3-4% increase in taxes -- the same rate of the Clinton years. They shouldn't bitch, that tax rate is lower than it was when their savior -- Ronald Reagan was president. The tax rate right now, is what, 36%? Obama is gonna raise it to 39%? The highest tax rate I'd support would be 50%. I don't care how much you earn, if the government came along and took half of your earnings away I'm sure you'd be pissed, right? But I don't know what word to describe what I'd be if the government came along and took 90% of my earnings...that's just plain robbery.

And speaking of tax hikes....I found this interesting: More Voters Than Ever Say Tax Cuts Help the Economy

Now I don't adhere to any ideology. I believe in doing what's right. In a faltering economy, I don't think raising taxes is the right thing to do - to anyone. When and (a minor if) the economy gets going again, and is strong, then I'd support raising taxes, but only then.

Now before I get called a right-winger like I have been called already today...I just told you, I don't adhere to an ideology. I don't believe in the right wing ways of doing things or the left ways of doing things. Sure, there's some policies on both sides of the aisle that I find appealing, but I do not "belong" to either side. I am a registered independent. Always have been and always will be. I don't care which side of the aisle you cling to, if you do something that I don't like I am going to bash you for it. I won't kiss either side's ass. You both suck in my humble opinion and have done nothing but bring this country down further into the hellhole it is in. The fun part is sitting and watching you two blame each other for it. You're both to fucking blame. I would say that you should work together to fix things -- but history shows that really isn't a good idea, either. When you guys work together, the American people get a double fucking up the ass. So yeah, every 4-8 years you guys take turns in fucking the American people up the ass and that's fine...just as long as it isn't a bipartisan fuckeroo.

Now, I hope I cleared things up. If not, let me know in the comments.

Cheers!

Bad News for Democrats

According to Rasmussen...

Support for the Democratic Congressional candidates fell to a new low over the past week, allowing the GOP to move slightly head for the first time in recent years in the Generic Congressional Ballot.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 41% said they would vote for their district’s Republican candidate while 39% would choose the Democrat.

Investors now favor Republicans by a 46% to 36% margin, while non-investors would vote Democratic by a 45% to 33% margin.

Rasmussen

If this keeps up, Democrats are gonna be in trouble in 2010 and 2012. I may even vote for the Republican candidate for President in 2012 myself if Obama keeps showing his hypocrisy and succeeds in being a hypocrite. Let this be a warning to you Obama and the Dems. Get your shit together and govern from the center or else you will face casualties in the next 2-4 years.

Hilarious post about Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is destined for greatness. She is the only girl-next-door politician I have known about during my nearly 71 years on earth. She is vibrant, intelligent, approachable, an experienced executive with a very high approval rating as governor, decisive, family oriented and probably many other attributes I will think about later. If she becomes a senator, that is OK with me but I look forward to her becoming our president. Now in her mid forties, she has many years remaining to become the Margaret Thatcher of our fine country if she wishes. And, if she wishes, she will succeed. She will not fail if she wants to become our president. She will be 60 years old in 2024, four presidential elections away. Whenever it happens, I hope I am still here and mentally healthy so I can enjoy the good times.
What are these Republicans smoking? I mean, really, can anyone honestly call Sarah Palin intelligent? She hasn't shown herself to be anything more than someone with average intelligence in interviews. Maybe I'm being too kind. I mean, who can't name a magazine or two that they read? What was so hard about answering that question? It was a SIMPLE question. She could NOT do it. Her answer? "Any of them, all of them that have been in front of me through all of these years." Wow.

Sarah Palin has reached her sell by date.

Its time that Palin goes back to Alaska and does her job as Governor. The Alaskans need a leader, and where is she? Parading around making a fool of herself in the continental United States. If this woman had any brains she'd be back in Alaska doing her job. All she is doing is hurting herself and taking the Republican party down with her.

Sarah Palin needs to go home/Future of the GOP

Is anyone else getting tired of hearing about Sarah Palin? All I hear is Palin this, Palin that. Why is she giving interview after interview? I heard that she is still giving her stump speech in interviews. Doesn't she know that she lost the election? Is she trying to make up for the lost opportunities during the campaign? She said she wished she gave more interviews during the campaign. Then why the hell didn't she?

Doesn't Palin still have a job in Alaska to attend to? Last I checked she was still Governor of Alaska. Why the hell isn't she doing her job? I wonder what her approval rating in Alaska is right now. Who is running the state, anyway? It's no surprise that the residents are wearing pins that say "Where's Sarah?"

I am tired of hearing this nonsense about the Republicans nominating Palin for President in 2012. Are the Republicans seriously considering this? One of the main reasons why McCain lost was because of Sarah Palin. Didn't they get the memo? As many as 60% of voters said that they thought Palin wasn't qualified to be President. Is it possible she'll be considered Presidential material in four years? Maybe. She's probably trying to redeem herself with all these interviews. But people aren't going to forget the blunders she made during the 2008 campaign.

Why are we even talking about this, anyway? Has anyone heard from Geraldine Ferraro lately? I didn't think so. What about John Edwards? Oh yeah, him. He ran in 2004, and lost, tried again in 2008 and what? You guessed it. He lost. Sure, let Palin run in 2012. If Palin is all the Republicans have to offer, then that's fine with me. It will seal President Obama's second term.

Would someone please tell Sarah that the people in Alaska want their Governor in Lipstick back? And tell her to forget about a Presidential run in 2012, it would be a waste of her and the Republican's time.

The Republicans should go with Bobby Jindal. He looks like a promising candidate for the future of the GOP. But I think they should probably hold him until 2016, because more than likely, Obama will win his second term. I mean, if we couldn't get rid of Bush in 2004, what makes you think we'll get rid of Obama in four years? 2016 is the year the Republicans just might have a chance at reclaiming the Presidency. They should run Jindal then. For 2012, I guess they could stick Tim Pawlenty in there for laughs.

U.S. to announce over $1 billion in aid for Georgia

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration will announce on Wednesday an aid package of more than $1 billion to help Georgia rebuild after its war with Russia over the separatist enclave of South Ossetia last month, U.S. officials said.

The aid was to be unveiled as Vice President Dick Cheney began a trip to the former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine designed to show U.S. support for its allies in the region despite Russia's military intervention.

Moscow sent tanks and troops into Georgia last month to crush the Georgian government's attempt to reassert control over South Ossetia.

Russia's action, and its subsequent recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, another breakaway Georgian region, as independent states has drawn condemnation from the West but few tangible actions to punish Moscow.

Sources familiar with the U.S. aid package said it was expected to total about $1.07 billion for reconstruction, with $570 million to be disbursed this year and $500 million subsequently. None of the money is expected to go for military aid, a highly sensitive issue to Moscow, the sources said.

A significant proportion would be devoted to budget support as well as to rebuild housing, transportation and other infrastructure destroyed in the conflict, one source said.

The White House plans to approach the campaigns of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama and Republican Sen. John McCain to seek their commitment to continue the assistance after President George W. Bush leaves office on January 20, the sources said.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was scheduled to announce the aid package Georgia and Bush was to issue a statement about it.

I am getting tired of stunts like this. Why the fuck should we fork over a billion dollars to aide Georgia, when we can't even afford our own expenses? How come we don't force Russia to pay for the damages they've made in Georgia's country?

These asshole Republicans have no problem sending our money overseas and helping other countries but we can't give money to our own citizens to help them. We seem to care more about other countries than we do our own. Isn't this fucking sad? Fuck the other countries! Fuck the Republicans! You assholes are going to have your asses handed to you in November.

Wasteful Spending?

The conservative Republicans talk a lot about keeping taxes low and cutting wasteful spending, but what do they mean by wasteful spending? You know what I call wasteful spending? All the money we're wasting in that shithole named Iraq. Now that's what I call wasteful spending. They don't seem to mind dumping ten billion dollars a month into Iraq, though. But god forbid, should we establish a national health care system and let the government foot the bill. Nope, we can't have that. I could think of a lot of ways to wisely spend that money here in our own country – to our own benefit.

And not only wasteful spending, but look at all of the lives sacrificed on this meaningless war in Iraq. Do the Republican Conservatives really think we're going to win the war in the long haul? I think not. The Islamic extremists have nothing to lose. They will sacrifice their own lives because they are convinced they are doing right, and will do everything and anything in their power to defeat us. Other than their lives, they have nothing to lose. We are the ones who are fighting to retain what is ours. Look at what this war is doing to our economy. It is killing us. The value of our dollar is decreasing, while the Euro is getting stronger. We are in debt like never before. We're borrowing money from China because we can't afford our expenses here at home. Fuel prices are skyrocketing. Our own citizens are struggling to survive and our own government doesn't seem to give a fuck. We are crumbling. We're indebted to China and soon they are going to own us.

And these asshole Republicans are naive to think we are winning? HELLO!! The Islamists are winning! We're in the exact position they want us to be in. We are the one sacrificing our young soldiers.

The Islamists are going to win, folks. It's only a matter of time. Those who have nothing to lose will always prevail over those who are trying to protect something. We are the losers, and the sooner we realize that, the better off we'll be.

Congress

America doesn't overly approve of the job Congress is doing in Washington. Currently their approval rating is 17.3% - while Bush's approval rating is 30%. And regardless of their approval ratings or productivity, they still get a paycheck. Something is wrong here, don't you think?

Well, I've proposed an idea that might help congress become more productive. What we ought to do is is pay them minimum wage until they work on a plan to reduce the deficit. Cut off all lobbyist money from these assholes. Make them do their job and fire them all if necessary.

I think that might put fire under their asses. Let them feel how it's like to work for minimum wage. Show them what it's like to really work for someone, and don't let them forget that they work for us.

If that's too radical for ya, then how about this:

Currently,

Congressmen & Senators earn $165,200
Majority & Minority Leaders earn $180,100
Speaker of the House earns $208,100

In my opinion, that is more than what they're worth. I'd cut all their salaries in half, thus:

Congressmen & Senators would earn $82,600
Majority & Minority Leaders would earn $90,050
Speaker of the House would earn $104,050

Maybe that will motivate them a little bit and remind them that they work for the citizens of the USA.

And once they balance the budget and help kill the deficit, I still wouldn't let them off easy. I'd make their approval rating determine their salary. Fuck 'em. I think that would encourage them to work together and get things done, wouldn't you say?
